Thank you Autumn for joining me on the Watch Her Series! Read her story below!

How would you describe your journey towards self-acceptance?

My journey to self-acceptance has involved recognizing and embracing my authentic self, flaws and all. I began letting go of societal pressures and internalized expectations, and instead, fostering self-compassion and understanding. Ultimately, I find peace in knowing that our imperfections make us unique and human!

Have there been any specific role models or influencers in your journey towards self-embrace?

Definitely my mom! She has been a strong role model, consistently showing me the importance of embracing my true self. She has always taught me that I am good just the way I am, instilling in me a deep sense of self-worth and acceptance. Her unwavering belief in me has guided me to appreciate and love myself!

Can you share a turning point when you began to fully embrace who you are?

In college, I experienced a turning point in self-love when I started surrounding myself with individuals who, like me, embraced their imperfections. Being part of this supportive community helped me realize that I didn’t need to be perfect to be valued. This acceptance and mutual understanding fostered a deep sense of self-appreciation and authenticity!

How do you use your platform as a State Queen to promote messages of self-acceptance?

With my recently crowned title, I aim to be a strong role model for young girls everywhere, demonstrating that life isn’t always perfect. I want to highlight how social media often hides flaws, and I will commit to posting my natural self to promote authenticity. Through this, I hope to inspire others to embrace their true selves and find beauty in their imperfections!

What advice would you give to young women striving to embrace themselves?

My advice would be to embrace your unique qualities and understand that imperfections are what make you beautifully human. Surround yourself with supportive people who appreciate you for who you are, not for an idealized version of yourself. Remember, true self-love comes from within, and your worth is not determined by external validation or social media!
