Today I’m featuring another Sister Queen and the current NAM Miss South Texas Faith Ogbah! She is sharing her story towards gaining self confidence.
Faith is just as beautiful on the inside as the outside! Since being crowned she has been busy volunteering with the Emmanuel Ogbah Free Football Camp and achieving her goal of pouring into the community that poured into her.

Thank you Faith for joining me on the Watch Her Series! Read her story below and follow her at @thenamtxmisssouth and @faith_ogbah

When did you first start feeling confident in yourself, and what helped you get there?

I first began to feel confident when I took the time to truly understand myself. This self-awareness paved the way for me to set meaningful goals. Achieving these goals helped me to cultivate and solidify my confidence. The greatest confidence hack is holding yourself accountable to the commitments you make.

Have you ever had to step outside your comfort zone to boost your self-confidence?

Entering the pageant world for the first time was one of the biggest steps outside my comfort zone. Having never competed before, I was naturally nervous. However, I knew that by stepping out of my comfort zone, my confidence would grow regardless of the outcome. I put myself out there not only to build my confidence but also to learn more about myself. Today, I am incredibly blessed to have won the title of National American Miss Texas!

How has being Miss Texas boosted your confidence? How do you handle self-doubt when it creeps in?

Being Miss Texas has greatly boosted my confidence, proving to me that with dedication and hard work, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. This experience has not only enhanced my self-belief but also demonstrated the power of perseverance and determination in reaching my goals.

Any tricks or tips you’ve found helpful?

During one of my pageant trainings, my coach advised me to take a deep breath before walking on stage. This not only made me appear more relaxed but also helped me feel calmer instantly. I’ve adopted this practice whenever I feel overwhelmed or anxious. When self-doubt creeps in, it’s crucial to take a deep breathe, remind yourself of who you are, and recognize that you’re capable of achieving anything.

What advice would you give to someone looking to build their self-confidence?

The advice I’d give is to step out of your comfort zone! With vulnerability comes reward. Do it scared, do it unsure, but just do it! Whether you achieve your goal or gain the confidence to know it’s attainable, you’ll find that putting yourself out there isn’t so bad. It’s a win-win!
