When did you first start feeling confident in yourself, and what helped you get there?
I first started feeling confident in myself this past year. What got me there was reminding myself that everyone is different & everyone’s body have different needs.
Have you ever had to step outside your comfort zone to boost your self-confidence?
I have had to step out of my comfort zone multiple times, pushing myself to do so. It showed me that although I was anxious and even afraid I was able to accomplish it and wouldn’t have it I hadn’t taken that step.
How has being Miss Kansas boosted your confidence?
For the short time that I have been Miss Kansas it has helped my confidence. For one it was something I had never done and didn’t know what exactly it would bring me. Putting myself out there and showing people who I am was scary but it showed me there was nothing to be scared of and helping me gain more confidence.
How do you handle self-doubt when it creeps in? Any tricks or tips you’ve found helpful?
When self doubt starts to creep in I take a moment and breathe. I think about what is causing it and why I might be feeling that way. I have found it is helpful to journal, getting your feelings out is better than holding them in. Also spending time outside in nature is a great grounding experience to help center yourself.
What advice would you give to someone looking to build their self-confidence?
For someone looking to build there confidence, the best thing to do it stop comparing yourself to others. There is only one of you and one of the other person. There is no shame in who you are, imperfections are something you that’s makes you human and unique.
