What inspired you to start competing at National American Miss?

Five years ago, I received a letter in the mail from National American Miss, which inspired me to try something completely new. Having just finished my last season of coed ice hockey, I was ready for a new opportunity. I loved the chance to embrace my very girly and feminine side.

What skills or qualities do you think are most important for success in pageants?

I think confidence and poise are key for success in pageants. Being authentic and having strong communication skills also go a long way.

What is one word you would you describe your journey towards confidence?

Transformative. Each experience with National American Miss has significantly shaped my self-assurance and growth, transforming me into a more confident and resilient person.

How has your journey as Miss Kentucky empowered you to inspire confidence in others?

My journey as Miss Kentucky has empowered me to inspire confidence in others by demonstrating how embracing pageants has contributed to my success in business. Through pageantry, I’ve gained invaluable skills in communication and branding, which have been instrumental in growing my graphic design business, Pageant Direct Design. This experience allows me to grow confidence in others, showing them how they can market and present themselves best in promotional material. (P.S. You can shop Lauren’s business here!)

What is the biggest lesson you've learned from your pageant experiences?

The biggest lesson I’ve learned from my pageant experiences is the power of resilience and self-belief. I’m incredibly grateful for the many successes pageants have brought me and how they have reshaped my path in life. These experiences have helped me grow personally and professionally, showing me the importance of staying true to myself and embracing every opportunity.
